Well your Danforth BIA had a busy night last night although I believe Board Member Chris Molder had the much nicer duty attending the TABIA event:-) While he was doing that I attended the Community meeting held to review the final options for the proposed 2nd exit for the Chester subway station. I know that many of you have been following this process so here is the update.
I've represented the Danforth BIA on this working committee for the past nine months. The committee started with 29 possible options and through a very long evaluation process we were able to get the list down to a final 3. Those 3 were presented to members of the public last night. Two of the 3 options impact the Green P parking lot to the east of the Chester subway station and the 3rd option is located in the small parkette area in the Carrot Common area. The options will now be presented to the TTC Board in February 2015 with the primary recommendation being for the top option which will be to the east of the Chester subway station - on the west side of the Green P parking lot. Once approval is given, construction will likely begin sometime in 2016.
I will provide you with the final decision once it's made in the new year.
