As you know Taste will take place from Friday, Aug. 11 through Sunday, Aug. 13. You should have all received and handed in your participation forms. If you did NOT receive a participation form and need one please let me know asap.
Greektown BIA has asked the City for permission to close Danforth starting on Friday, August 11 at 10am instead of 11am. Please make note of this in your calendars.
Albert and I have met with the Taste organizers and have been able to get Greektown BIA to agree to increase the amount you can charge for your food samples from $5.00 to $6.00 this year. We also have Greektown BIA looking into the issue of your tax receipts - we understand that most of you have not received tax receipts. We will keep you updated on this issue.
The Danforth BIA Taste Stage (Broadview & Danforth) - We'd like to thank Jennifer Jones, owner of the Joy of Dance Centre & Teachers College, for organizing our stage for the past 10 years. Jennifer is taking a very well deserved break from producing the stage this year. We're pleased to announce that our new business member NXNE Music Festival will be producing our stage. Michael Hollett and Jen Fox will be the point people. For those business members who have performed on our stage in the past if you wish to perform again Michael and Jen will be happy to schedule you in. HOWEVER we won't be dealing with this until later next week or the beginning of the following week - NXNE Music Festival is happening this week so Michael and Jen are swamped:-)
