BIA Week Celebrations at City Hall

Good Afternoon All,

As you know from an email a while back, TABIA (Toronto Association of BIAs) had organized a special awareness week for all 83 BIAs operating in the City. This included displays for each BIA that wished to participate in the rotunda of City Hall; last night the towers of City Hall were lit in blue and white to mark the week; and, today at 12:30pm John Tory welcomed representatives from all of the BIAs to City Hall. Thanks to Albert Stortchak, our Board Chair, for taking time off work to join me in representing our Danforth BIA today.

We also participated in a BIA & City wide Twitter chat this morning. This was the first time that we've done a Twitter chat and omg it was great! So many BIAs shared their ideas etc. Special thanks to our Social Media Manager, Eszter Czibok and our Thrill PR Manager, Steve Williams for helping us to manage the ins and outs of a Twitter chat! #BIAWeek was trending in 2nd place for quite some time earlier today.

If you have some time please take a look at our @DanforthBIA posts on Twitter, Instagram and FB.

Attached are a few photos from today's ceremony at City Hall.

And a final thanks to John Kiru and his team at TABIA for organizing this week - we were very proud to be part of the activities and appreciated the opportunity to promote our great Danforth BIA.

Thanks,
Susan
