Danforth BIA Recognized

Hi All,

Last night we attended the TABIA (Toronto Association of BIAs) annual dinner and awards night. This year the City of Toronto and TABIA presented awards to our BIA and Greektown's BIA in recognition of the work that both of our communities did following the shooting in July. We weren't able to take all of you, our BIA members, to the dinner but you were so very well represented by two of our BIA business members: Keiley Abbat, owner of Small Wonders - Keiley organized the Danforth Strong Go Fund Me account and raised $75,000 for the victims; and, Michael Hollett, President of NXNE - Michael volunteered his time and expertise and worked with us to organize all of the vigils, tributes and the fundraising concert held at our Danforth Music Hall during TASTE which raised over $50,000 for the victims.

This award belongs to all of you and once again I thank you all for everything you did during that extremely difficult time. The award itself will be in the window of Small Wonders for the next little while so you can see it.

Attached is a photo of both our BIA (Albert Stortchak, Board Chair, Keiley Abbat, Michael Hollett) and Greektown (Katerina Gourmos, Howard Lichtman) representatives from last night.

Thanks,
Susan
