Important Upcoming Dates + Road Closure: Please Mark Your Calendars

Good Afternoon BIA Members,

I have a few important upcoming dates to bring to your attention as follows:

Tuesday, October 21/25:
  • Ontario Line Truck Haul Route Meeting. Councillor Paula Fletcher, MPP Peter Tabuns and Public School Board Trustee Sara Ehrhardt will be hosting the meeting on October 21st at 6:30 pm on Zoom. Anyone interested can register here.
  • With the upcoming phase of the Ontario Line construction beginning at the Gerrard and Carlaw portal, Pape and Cosburn station, and the excavation for the emergency exit at Pape and Bain, Metrolinx has now developed their haul route plan for soil removal.
  • This phase will involve hundreds of truck trips per day through area streets. As we've seen in previous stages of construction, it's critical to understand where heavy vehicles will be operating—especially near schools, parks, businesses and homes.
  • Following the serious accident on Pape Avenue this year, Metrolinx created a Haul Route Truck Safety Plan to improve safety measures. You can read the plan here
  • At this meeting, Metrolinx will share: details of the upcoming haul route; road and community safety plan; opportunities for residents/business members to provide feedback and suggestions

Road Closure: Sunday, October 26/25:

  • The annual Greek OXI Day parade will take place on Sunday, October 26
  • The Danforth will be closed to traffic from Donlands to Broadview from approximately 11am to 4pm
Monday, November 17/25:
  • The Broadview Danforth BIA Board of Directors will be hosting our AGM.
  • This meeting will be held via Zoom starting at 6:30pm.
  • The full meeting notice is attached to this message.  Due to the rotating mail strike, the City will not be mailing this notice to your property owners.  The City has asked that you please share this notice with your property owners.
  • We encourage BIA members to participate in this meeting.  If you are interested in joining the meeting please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I will add you to the rsvp list.  The Zoom link will be sent out closer to the meeting date.
Thanks,
Susan
