Celebrate soccer, music, and community on the Danforth with The World Within Our Neighbourhood — a free summer event bringing people together through the joy of the beautiful game. Join the Broadview Danforth BIA on June 12 and 13 for outdoor match-day fun, live music, family-friendly activities, local performances, and a special viewing party for Canada’s opening match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The celebration continues through July 2 with musicians performing in CafeTO parkettes across the neighbourhood, representing cultures and countries from around the world. Come cheer, explore, dance, eat, shop, and experience the incredible mix of global sounds, local businesses, and community spirit that make Broadview Danforth feel like the world in one neighbourhood.

Pitch your way to $15,000 at the Up-Start! Competition

Building on MaRS' Entrepreneurship 101 lecture series, the Up-Start! Competition provides an opportunity for participants to compete for $15,000 for the best business pitch presentation. Enterprise Toronto morning seminars to be replaced by business boot camps

Enterprise Toronto will be taking a new direction with its workshops in 2015 - moving away from bi-weekly morning seminars and replacing them with a more structured training program focused on business planning, startup financials, and marketing and sales planning.

Wearable tech startup considers all options

Unlike many of his peers in the emerging field of wearable technology, Robert Tu freely admits he doesn't know what the future will look like. In a sector where techies make grand statements like they're auditioning for a Ted Talk, Tu is an outlier.

This year's City of Toronto Small Business Forum was one of the largest ever and featured a great line-up of speakers with inspirational stories and tactical advice to start and grow your business.

Nominations for the 2015 National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) Awards are now open. Winners will be announced during NBIA's 29th International Conference on Business Incubation in Denver, Colorado in April 2015.

Art entrepreneurs have a business plan

If you thought art collectors were intimidating professors with white sofas and inherited wealth, you haven't met Amanda Dunn and Julia Wehkamp. "There is a whole new generation of collectors. Whether they're coming from emerging markets in the Middle East, Asia, or whether they're young professionals looking to invest," explains Wehkamp.
